I am an LEA student and this glossary is intended for my teacher. In his class we studied three themes. This glossary is therefore there to help me learn specific terms in these three different themes. All the terms come from the different texts that we have studied in class and from the personal readings that I have done. It contains 25 terms
astonishing

Very surprising.
Example: I was astonished at the news.

Balance sheet
noun
A record of the value of things a company owns and of its debts for a particular period, usually a year.
Example: The balance sheet has been more positive.

Case law
noun
Law based on decisions that have been made by judges in the past.
Example: Case law has established that workers are on the job if they're doing something that benefits the employer.

Claim
noun
State something typically without providing evidence or proof.
Example: He claimed to be an expert.

Committed
adjective
You loyal, do something and care about something.
Example: He is committed in this fight.

Competition
Noun
When someone wants the same thing to you, you have competition.
Example: The two companies are in competition.

Eco-friendly
adjective
Not dangerous for the planet, environment.
Example: They use an eco-friendly packaging.

Enable
verb
To make someone able to do something, or to make something possible.
Example: Motivation enabled him to succeed.

Global warming
noun
Global warming is the phenomenon of increasing average air temperatures near the surface of Earth.
Example: He is reducing his exports for global warming.

An increase in the ability of an economy or business to produce goods and services.
Example: We have had three successive years of economic growth.

Injunction
noun
An official order given by a law court, usually to stop someone from doing something.
Example: The court has issued an injunction to prevent distribution of this product.

Join together, or to be joined together, to make a larger company.
Example: The two companies merged to form one.

Misleading
adjective
Giving a wrong, fake idea or impression.
Example: This was a misleading information.

noun
To meet people who might be useful to know, especially in your job.
Example: He has a large network to find an internship.

Someone who makes a legal complaint against someone else in court.
Example: Judges has sided with the plaintiffs.

Retailer
noun
A person, shop, or business that sells goods to the public.
Example: A clothing/electrical/food retailer.

Shareholder
noun
Someone who owns shares in a company.
Example: But we do have shareholders that have expectations of return.

Killing animals for meat.
Example: The slaughter of animals is a barbarous act.

Supply and demand

The balance between the amount of goods available and the amount that people want to buy.
Example: Oil prices should be set by supply and demand, and not artificially regulated.
